We’ve got some exciting news for you! Twinmotion 2023.2 Preview 1 is here, and it’s packed with exciting new features and improvements to help you create immersive scenes and better showcase your work here on ArtStation.

The 2023.2 Preview 1 is all about optimizing your workflow while elevating the quality of your projects.

Let There be Light!

Lighting can make or break your scenes, and with this new update, you’ll be able to use Unreal Engine 5’s dynamic global illumination and reflections system aka Lumen, to bring your scenes to life like never before.

Twinmotion now operates on the foundation of Unreal Engine 5.3 and with Twinmotion 2023.2 Preview 1, you will be able to use Lumen in Twinmotion for the very first time. Realistic shadows, soft light diffusion, and dynamic sun studies can uplevel your projects into new levels of realism — from spectacular visuals to close to path-traced quality levels of video renders, all now possible in a fraction of the time.

And that’s not all. Lumen is just one of many new features now available in this release; there’s more to check out in the Twinmotion 2023.2 Preview 1 release notes.

Say Hello to the Twinmotion Community Edition

There are also changes to the ‘Twinmotion Trial’ which moving forward will be known as the Twinmotion Community Edition. Still completely free to use for an unlimited period of time, the Twinmotion Community Edition is for anyone wanting to create non-commercial projects or just try out the latest Twinmotion features.

Going forward, Preview releases just like the recent 2023.2 version will only be available via the Twinmotion Community Edition license.

Note: Media output is still limited to 2K resolution and now carries a small, unobtrusive watermark.

You can download the free version of Twinmotion Community Edition here for free and start creating immersive scenes in your portfolio right away. Here’s a quick how-to tutorial that shows you how you can publish your Twinmotion Cloud projects (Presentations and Panorama Sets) directly in your ArtStation portfolio.
