Since launching in 2018, the ArtStation Marketplace has helped thousands of creators to make a living doing what they love, while also being a valuable resource for millions of users to discover products that help them in their work or passion projects. As more artists and worldbuilders are coming online to create digital experiences, we’ve been working across Epic to create a unified marketplace where artists and developers can join forces to build the emerging metaverse.

Today, we announced Fab, a new marketplace launching later this year that will give all digital content creators a single destination to discover, share, buy and sell digital assets. We’re excited about what Fab will bring to the digital content creation community and believe this new fair and open marketplace will fully support ArtStation’s mission of helping creators thrive. We will be merging the ArtStation Marketplace with Fab later this year, giving our Marketplace sellers access to a massive new audience of potential buyers.

The ArtStation site and its features will remain the same as they are today, and we will continue to focus on being the go-to portfolio platform for digital artists to showcase their work, find jobs, discover resources and education, and participate in community activities and challenges. ArtStation and Fab will benefit from integration, enabling artist discovery in both places and creating more exposure for our artist community.

As Fab develops, it will host an expansive library of high-quality tools and digital art resources including 3D models, 2D assets, environments, VFX, sound, digital humans, animations and more, and it will support a community where individual creators and studios can share and sell their work. Fab will be an open marketplace supporting all engines, digital content creation tools, and metaverse-inspired games which support imported content. Fab sellers will benefit from the lowest store fees in the industry, earning a standard revenue share of 88%.

What’s next

Our team is committed to making sure all of our existing ArtStation Marketplace sellers feel at home on Fab when it launches, and we’ll be there to help you with the migration process. We’re planning to release an automated migration tool to make the transition as seamless as possible for all sellers, and we’ll share more details in the coming months. In the meantime, we’ve done our best to answer your questions in this FAQ.
